Does anyone have a good alternative to the broken QR Code widget?

The Mendix QR Code Widget no longer works in new versions of Mendix (I tested with 9.22, but others are reporting issues with 9.18 already). Issues have been reported since beginning of January, but it has community support, and it seems no one is maintaining it. So I am looking for alternatives that don’t involve server-side image generation. Does anyone know of a goood alternative for front-end, JS-based QR Code generation in Mendix?
