Metadata import via Excel Importer taking a long time

Hello! When using the import functionality of the Excel Importer, it takes upwards of 10-15 minutes to import all the files. We do have about 40 files, but less than a thousand rows total between all of them. It does seem to be different depending on the environment we do this in. Has anyone else had issues with the import being slow?
