The current implementation of Templates for document generation is very restrictive. When calling a microflow to fetch data from a list, you are limited to only passing the direct parent data-view as a parameter instead of all parent data-views. This functionality would make it much easier and more consistent with the logic that mendix uses across the board. This is already implemented in snippets and how pages use data-views so it seems that templates should be the same.
