How can I use base64 strings as images in Native applications in Mx 8.13+ (iOS)?

Since the Mx 8.13 updates all images that use base64 strings to be shown (iOS) no longer work. I have a custom widget showing base64 strings as images, and the default feedback widget uses a Base64 string as button image (the two text balloons). This issue wasn’t present on our previous builds (Mx 8.6.x) and doesn’t show up when locally testing the app over Make It Native. Anyone here encountered this / has a fix for this issue? (Tried upgrading to mx 8.14.1, didn't fix this issue)
