react-native root error - could not connect to development server

Experts, I was trying to use the native mobile quick start app. First I ran into the build errors, but after doing a cleanout of the deployment directory, I could get the build done successfully. I downloaded the “MakeItNative9” app on my mobile (iphone). After scanning the QR code I first noticed that it was loading something and then threw up the below error. Appreciate if anyone who has an idea on how to get past this issue, can share some info. My Mendix studio pro version is 9.1.0
