Text area widget not working as expected in Android devices

I tested this on an android phone using Mendix phone web application I tired 2 methods to restrict the number of character entered by the user With added a Maximum length to attribute length (which is 200 String )and also tried custom restriction (200)on the text area widget, but in both the methods tried it allows me to enter more then the restricted number of characters. This same scenario I am not seeing in IOS phone . Which is so weird why this bug only happens in Android . Does anyone facing the same issue , how to resolve this phone specific issue ? . Thanks
