We are seeing the same error. I'm looking into it and see that the app center has had some issues with distribution in the last 24 hours and are testing a fix: https://status.appcenter.ms/.

Have you had any luck with building since you posted here?

Edit: just had a successful build after cleaning the deployment directory and restarting everything.
