Why is a tag created (almost) every commit?

See attached image below. Nearly every commit an additional listitem is created, creating a tag for a certain revision. Aside of this, assuming, unwanted behaviour, it also clutters the overview when looking through all commits that've been made.  Why are tag commits constantly created and how to prevent this? Irrelevant or business data removed from screenshot, such as commit messages, specific branch lines or authors.  Off-topic: Mendix, you have a file uploader. Why not use it on the forum ?!

It is just part of Mendix’version control concept, see https://docs.mendix.com/refguide6/version-control-concepts#tag. But why Mendixgenerates a tag at every commit instead of at every “deployment package creation” is not clear to me.
