Dear Mendix,
I would like to share with you my observations and tests regarding build times under macOS 15.
I am always looking for ways to cut down the build process time, as it’s an operation I perform multiple times a day.
I am using a MacBook Pro with an M1 Max chip.
To my surprise, Studio Pro builds running in Parallels (Pro license, not standard) are faster than native Mac Studio Pro builds.
I understand that the Mac version is still in beta, but it’s surprising that the native version is slower than the one running inside a VM on the same machine. There is still a lot of work needed on the macOS Studio Pro version. Currently, the native build is about 20% slower compared to the build running in Parallels. I have 8 CPU cores and 16 GB of RAM dedicated to Parallels.
I hope that all the time we are investing while waiting for the native macOS Studio Pro version will not be wasted. Please, Mendix, give the Mac community some hope!
