It’s really annoying to use Studio Pro behind a corporate web proxy server that requires Microsoft NTLM authentication with you personal credentials. Most applications can handle this transparently but not Studio Pro.
Current status on the Studio Pro 9.x IDE:
- non-authenticated system proxies are recognized and used out-of-the-box
- NTLM authenticated system proxies cannot be used out-of-the-box for the IDE
- a userid / password can be set in the configuration after you opened a project but it doesn’t solve all the issues and is easily forgotten to be updated when your personal password changes
- even with the set proxy userid / password you cannot download any existing project to your desktop for the first time (at least for SVN, haven’t check for GIT)
Proposed status:
- NTLM authenticated system proxies are recognized and used automatically without any configuration (a lot of applications can do this already, e.g. Postman, Fiddler Classic, VS Code etc.)
- in addition the proxy protocol, domain and port used can be set manually to overcome issues by using third-party tools (e.g. Fiddler Classic)
This all relates to repository access (first download and sync) and access to the Marketplace, not to the Internet access by locally started applications.
