While I understand the need to build a new expression editor that is cross platform and has new features, the performance of the new expression editor still leaves much to be desired. It does not feel like it should be the default in the latest version of Mendix Studio Pro. The typing and auto-complete latency of the new expression editor is dramatically higher than the old version.
The Expression editor tries to give me suggestions after nearly every keystroke (except white-space like Tab, Space and Enter). This, plus the lag, makes for lots of unnecessary typos. I'd rather see auto-complete suggestions only after I hit Ctrl-Space. I've been looking for an option to disable auto-complete (or only show after Ctrl-Space) but couldn't find it.
