Crosstab or Transposed Rows/Columns in Data Grid

We often have a requirement to display a grid of financial data, year on year. The data, in general, comes to us with a single row per year of financial data. In the UI, the standard reporting format for financials is a column for each year of data.

it would be great if the data grid could swap rows and columns so the grid output could be easily displayed/formatted.
