Flat file importer imports with Square character between each word

the csv file in question does not seem to have any invalid character, i can confirm that when opened in notepad and also in linux vi . there does not seem to be bad characters. but when i import this file from flat file importer ( only this file , other files work fine ), the data gets imported and i see the data correctly on the page, but when i try to edit them, i see square characters in between each letter. just checking if anyone saw this issue , if there is a fix for this , OR if the csv file is actually wrong. Due to this i am not able to do string check logics.
