Difference between file manager and image uploader

Hii, Can anyone one tell what is the difference between image uploader and file manager? I need to upload two format for that which one is fine to use ?

Hi Lavanya,

Image uploader is used for image files , eg., jpeg, png (It also generates a thumbnail of the uploaded image.)

File uploader is mainly used for files like .doc, .pdf (It also allows user to download the file)
