I have a list view displaying names and i have a checkbox on the left where i can multiselect these names. But just after clicking on the check box once the whole list view pop up is getting closed. Is there a way to keep the box open? so i can multi select the options

Look at the properties of the checkbox and see if the Events tab shows Save Changes for On Change. If so, there is a radio button that says Close Page, which you should set to No.
