ODATA - Associations as a link - issue with collecting data

Hi, We’ve set OData up with the setting of associations as a link (as recommended), but when I do a test with Excel and Get data via OData, the table gets imported without the columns that represent the associations. If I switch back the setting to “as an associated object id”, the columns get imported and I see data in them. How do I make sure the columns are actually shown ? (my colleagues are trying to get this data via Azure also and the same behavior happens there as well – appearance vs disappearance of the columns)
