check boxes on a data grid 2. multiple names to be selected, it is not keeping the checked boxes of page is changed

Good Morning, I am hoping someone can help. I have a data grid 2 with Multi selection chosen. It allows us to check more than one box, but as soon as you search for another name or change the page on the pagination it loses the names already selected. This is not ideal as there will be thousands of names to choose from with multiple names needing to be selected. The user is not wanting to save after each selection. Does anyone know how to keep the names? screenshot below of the studio pro of the data grid properties. Thanks in advance, Jess
