How to set default date as per current date in reference selector in native app?

Is there a way to set the default date in reference selector based on the current date, Ex if my event is from 10th to 12th June , then if I open the page on 9th I should see details for 10th, but if I open on 10th then the details should be of 10th, and if opened on 11th the details should be of 11th itself. I have tried several approaches using current date and time but there is no option in reference selector to set the default basis current day. I am using version 9.24.16.
