Unexpected datagrid behaviour when property Wait for search set to true

Since migration to Mx6, datagrids with property "Wait for search" set to true behave differently. When I open a page in content, after closing the page the grid loses it's selection (empty grid) When I open a page as popup, after closing the page the grid keeps it's selection. It looks like a bug. Or is there a (new) way to influence this behaviour?
