Is it possible to have a user assigned to a Mendix Project that is only able to view the project in the Mendix Modeler?

I have a use case where I want some developers on my team to only be able to view the project, not be able to commit changes. Is there a way to do this?

If by 'view the project' you mean 'dowload it in the modeler' then: No

View/Edit/Commit is combined in a single permission.
