How can I update my Modeler 6.6.0 to version 7 ?

0
Hello, Since last week I started doing the learning paths of Mendix and have started with modeler version 6.6.0 on my PC, but now I am unable to continue as the "Training Management" project was started via the Team server and apparently that runs version 6.10.0. So I can not open my project "Training Management" in the 6.6.0 Modeler. I see version 7 is out now, but I can not see how I can update the 6.6.0 Modeler on my PC to version 7. There is a nice button on the website that offers you to get version 7, but as soon as you click the button it asks to register as a new developer. As I already registered as a developer last week I don't want to register again of course. So my question is: How can get version 7 of the Modeler on my PC or how can I update my 6.6.0 modeler to version 7 ?

Hi Erik,

Welcome to the platform.  It is true that you cannot open up a project in an older version of Mendix, like opening a 6.10 project in 6.6.  All versions of Mendix can be found at this page here from the app store:

https://appstore.home.mendix.com/link/modelers/

In this case, you could download version 6.10 from the list and then open the project in that version.  I do recommend using version 6.10 when doing the training as that way all the examples and the screenshots will match exactly.  The training screenshots are being updated to version 7 currently, so you could certainly use the latest and greatest version but things might not look 100% the same.

To open up a project in a new version, open up the Mendix Modeler of the version you want to use, then go to 'open' and find your project.  The conversion will then happen automatically.

Best,

Rob
