Desktop Modeler versus Web Modeler

when i switch from web modeler to desktop modeler I don’t see the actual app I’m creating in the desktop modeler (when I click on view ap). and maybe it’s not syncing, as well. amy

Did you run the app locally?

Hi Amy,

It is important to click on “Sync with Web Modeler”

Can I run it locally if I am using the Free App?  I am a student user at a University

If you want to see the changes in your Free app environment (via View App) these are the options to Publish to the same Free app environment

  • From Web Modeler: ‘Publish’ button
  • From Desktop Modeler : ‘Run’ button (‘Run locally’ will publish the changes locally on your machine)

 

FYI: From 7.23.3 the ‘Sync with Web Modeler’ has been replaced by a normal Update & Commit based synchronization. See also my blog about this: https://www.mendix.com/blog/mendix-7-23-3-get-great-team-work-with-collaboration-and-version-control/
