Update menubar state when they are activated by another action

3

We would like it to be possible to manually or automatically give menu-elements the 'active' state when they are activated by other means. Currently, a page can be loaded without the corresponding menu-element getting the 'active' class. This leads to confusion for the user because he has no way of determining which page in the application is currently active and where he has navigated to in the menu-structure.

There are several usecases where this behaviour is currently problematic:

- When navigating to a page from a button or a link on another page.

- When using both a topbar and sidebar menu: When you click an element in the topbar, the corresponding menu-element is not active in the sidebar. When you click an element in the sidebar, the corresponding menu-element is not active in the topbar

Thank you Jason, that is very good to know.

The widget is outdated though, so I would have to see if it still works in Mendix 10. But it might be a good solution until it is fixed by Mendix.
