popups are delayed untill you click somewhere

when i click new, nothing happens, but as soon as I navigate away the popup apairs. anyone see this before and know the cause?     edit: this only happens when the listview is empty, so might be something in the microflow blocking it.   I started rebuilding my page. IF I add a listview with over association I get this behaviour. If I remove it it works as intended....

Change data source from Association to XPath

edit:

when you pass an empty object to the page, it also seems to block some other navigation elements.
