Save users time with urls that store parameters

0
Hi.  Our business partners has a great app in Mendix.  However the users are having to start each search from scratch.  There is no way to send parameters through bookmarked urls as on other platforms.   No matter where we are on the page, the url stays the same, nothing is passed through it – so no pages or queries can be saved.  This leads to inefficient use of the tools.   How can our business partner enable this functionality (and us were we to build on it). Is there a simple toggle for this or a guide?

There is an appstore module called the Deeplink Module. You can use this module to build up urls like the ones you're talking about.

This module can introduce new security risks when things are not properly thought through though, so make sure you adhere to all the security best practices.

This is very promising, so for example, to get to the result below,  I have to go through 5 or 6 clicks.  By our partner using this module, we would be able to save a url for a result such as this?  This would be wonderful!  Would you say that it requires a lot of time to implement? We are all authenticated users on their web app.

Thanks for your sharing your knowledge.  Is there an added cost to use the module?

Alternatively you can design a search and filter model which enable controlling the state of the search and filter options to persistent or non persistent, whichever the use case is. Let me know if you need more help with this.

You will have this functionality with MX9 when you use Data Grid 2. You can find it in appstore already.
