Highlight the selected navigation menu item

Here is an idea submitted long ago as a question by Kasi Viswanadham  here:

By default first navigation item(menu) is highlighted in the menu bar. When second or third navigation item(menu) is clicked then that is not highlighted. First navigation item(menu) is highlighted always.

Let me know the solution to highlight the selected menu.
