As the listview controls were deprecated, including the pagination widget, and the solution for this is to use gallery instead of listview, it would be great if a data view with data source type ‘Listen to widget’ work for galleries.

Is by Data Grid 2 and Gallery Widget, the first item, selected by default ?. I tested it and it returns empty, when using a Data view to Listen.
Agreed! The same should apply to the Datagrid2 widget.
