Great addition that DG2 now supports setting and getting filter values in version 2.20.
But why is that not possible for dropdown filters on a reference?
Please extend the feature to also support that.
There's rarely a grid without reference dropdown filters and it's really hard to explain to an end user why the feature can be offered to some filters but not to others.
Did you have any news about this subject? I need this too to save filter selection or to set default value.
For information, you can use the GUID of the object as Filter value but it is not taken in account except if you manually click on the filter...
I would like to use the feature of getting and setting these filters. This is usefull for example to save the filter selection from a user or to prepopulate a filter with some defaults.
This is not supported for the reference filters currently.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but you can configure dropdown filters for references in the column configuration itself, not in the dropdown widget. There you have an option to select the reference to filter by and this will populate the dropdown. It's a little bit counterintuitive, but as I understand this is due to some technical limitations.
