I've been exploring the capabilities of our current Rich Text Editor built on Quill V2, and I’ve noticed a couple of key functionalities that are present in the Quill V2 playground (https://v2.quilljs.com/playground/snow) but are missing in the platform supported Rich Text Editor implementation. I’d like to share some ideas for enhancements that could bring the editor more in line with advanced text editing needs:
- Tab IndentationCurrently, the tab key doesn’t behave as expected for text indentation. A more MS Word–like behavior, where pressing the tab key indents text, would allow for better control over document structure and visual alignment. This feature would be especially useful when outlining content or organizing nested information.
- Table FunctionalityIncorporating the ability to insert and manage tables directly in the editor would be a significant step forward. Tables are a critical aspect of content formatting, allowing users to organize data clearly and efficiently. Enhanced table support—including table insertion, cell editing, and formatting options—would make the Rich Text Editor a more robust tool for handling complex layouts.
These improvements could greatly enhance the user experience by offering more intuitive and flexible editing options. Has anyone else experimented with these features or found workarounds? It would be great to gather community insights on how to best approach incorporating this functionality.
