Filter on multiple to multiple in template grid left side

In a template grid, it is possible to have a search on a multiple to multiple and this works great. But now I want the same but then the search on the left side of the screen. I have tried it with a Dropdown – Dynamic widget but this is only for enum and booleans. With the de Dropdown - static widget is it possible but then I need to put all the possibilities by hand. Is there a other way to get the same result?
