Default filter on a hidden by default attribute in Data Grid 2 is not applied when opening the page

I am providing default values for column filters in Data Grid 2. When the column is visible then the filter is applied when I access the page. However, when the column is hidden by default, then the filter is not applied (bad behavior). It gets applied only after I make the column visible. When I hide the filtered column again, the filter application remains (expected behavior). Is there a way to apply the default filter from hidden by default columns? MX 9.24.6. Data Widgets 2.8.8
