DataGrid 2 - drop down filter - limited to 100 items

I use DataGrid 2 and have a drop down filter with items from an associated entity. I noticed now that the items in that drop down filter are limited to the first 100 items. Is this by design? I see something in the code about lazy loading it, but it does not lazy load anything beyond the first 100.
