Data Grid 2 - How to reset the multi selection programatically

Hi, We are using the Data Grid 2 multi selection to allow users perform actions on mutliple objects at once. The issue we have is that when we perform this action (in a pop up page) we cannot reset the selection on the data grid 2 I know there is a javascript action to reset filters on data grid 2 but is there any other options here?
