listview controls widget text box search and visibility

In our application we use the listview controls text box search to search in a listview. When the listview and the text box search are part of a container that contains a visiblity condition based on a attribute and where this container is default not shown, the listview text box search doesn't work once the visibility comes to true. Is this normal behaviour? And how could I make this work?
