Copy and paste losing formatting

Hi all,   My application allows users to fill in a standard form. I have an unlimited text entry field that end users can either free type or copy and paste into. The client requires the formatting of the copy and pasted data to be kept. I tried using the rich text editor and CKE editor widget with some success. However when they paste text from an email from outlook the formatting seems to mess up. Has anyone experienced this before and knows of a solution.

Phil,

In CKEditor, there is a Paste From Word button you can put in your toolbar.  If you haven’t already, maybe you can try that and see if it helps.

Dear Phil,

For security The Rich text editor widget filters out all elements that are not supported. This might mess up the original styling.
