Search DataGrid2 using an input textbox that contains the XPath Query

Hi all, I’m thinking of filtering datagrid 2 using an advanced search using XPath query that will be situated within a textbox. I’m hoping to trigger the search action using a button and also this textbox can be populated while filling the individual column filters of the datagrid2. Would this be possible? Also, is there any existing tool that can be use in validating the XPath query? Please let me know if you’ve encountered this requirement/design before and if you have any possible solutions for it. Thanks in advance!
