Datagrid 2 select checkboxes, be able to have BOTH row click and select all like with checkboxes

Users give feedback that when we have checkboxes enabled they'd also want to be able to click the row to select the checkbox. However, when rows are enabled users miss the option to select all rows at once that the checkboxes do have and it's not immediately clear to them that they can select the rows since the checkboxes do not show

Could we have the best of both worlds? to have a select all and show checkboxes while the user can select a row to select it for multi selection?

holding control does allow multi selecting with checkboxes, but it's not very instinctive. Unless we put this in bold letters on pages where multi selection is a thing I doubt users would think of it

Though unrelated: the behaviour of gallery widget seems to be with multi selection that normally you only select 1 row and there for multi selection you always need to hold ctrl. so the behaviour between datagrid 2 and gallery is also different unless I am overlooking a selection method on gallery widget
