Enhancements for Maia: Native App Generation, Marketplace Suggestions, and Development Guidance

1. Native App Generation from Documents

Currently, when generating an application using the document-based generation feature, native apps are not created. It would be very helpful if Maia could also generate Native Mobile App structures from the provided documentation or requirements. This would significantly speed up mobile-first projects.

2. Marketplace Widget and Module Recommendations

Maia could analyze the application requirements and automatically suggest relevant Mendix Marketplace widgets and modules.

For example:

If a map feature is detected → suggest Map widgets.
If document upload is required → suggest File Manager modules.
If video calls are required → suggest WebRTC or communication modules.

3. Development Strategies and Use Case Examples

Maia could provide recommended development strategies and architectural guidance for common use cases.

Examples:

Best practices for microflow design and performance optimization
Suggested domain model structures based on the application scope
Example implementations for common scenarios such as order management, approval workflows, and IoT integrations

Hi Gokul I

I feel that these expectations from AI may be a bit too extensive. AI can certainly provide development guidance from a non-UI perspective by understanding user stories and functional requirements. However, we cannot assume that all customers follow the Atlas UI design system, so automatically suggesting or generating widgets based on UI expectations could be challenging.

I also checked the Native side. Currently, it may not fully support such capabilities, but it is something we can expect to evolve in the future. For Workflows, I believe AI could definitely provide useful assistance.

Another point to consider is that if an application does follow the Atlas design system, then it might be helpful to upload a screenshot of a page so that AI can generate or suggest UI components aligned with that design system.
