I think the Mendix Intermediate certification learning path you linked is actually the best next step for your situation.
Since you’ve completed Rapid Developer and you’re still a fresher with limited hands-on experience, following the topics there in order makes a lot of sense. It’s structured in a way that both:
builds real development skills, and
prepares you directly for the Intermediate exam at the same time.
