We are writing to inform you about an issue we've identified that is currently affecting the Mendix app image build process.

 

Important Update: Mendix App Image Build Issue Affecting Edge Application Version Creation

Error: We've observed that Mendix app image builds are failing with a "requests module not found" error. This is disrupting the containerization process, specifically when using the cf-mendix-buildpack v5.0.16.

 

Impact: This issue primarily affects developers using the Mendix Studio Pro IE Plugin when they attempt to create new Edge Application Versions. Affected users may experience difficulties or failures during the application creation process while working on fresh file system. It might works for existing users.

 

Technical Details: There were some caching mechanism was used in pip library to perform an installation or build from a source package, now it is no longer creates/cache wheels by default.  

So, if developer start creating with new images from fresh filesystem, pip cannot found cache folder and application creation failing.

We would like to bring to your attention above mentioned issue that has been fixed now in latest IE Plugin v1.6.7. 

 

Recommendation: To ensure uninterrupted functionality and successful IE application version creation, we strongly urge all users to immediately upgrade to the latest available build of IE Plugin v1.6.7. This corrected build addresses the identified issue.

 

Deprecation Notice: Please be advised that all previous versions of the IE Plugin (i.e., any version prior to the latest corrected build of v1.6.7) are now considered officially deprecated. These deprecated versions will not receive further support and may not function as expected.

 

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and thank you for your understanding.
