Excel Importer unable to fix visibility setting after installing the module

Installed Excel Importer module and I get an error that seems to have no solution. The error is the condition for visibility needs to be updated for the last row of the layout grid in the page Column_NewEdit. The problem is there is no change that you can make to the visibility that works. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it?

This appears to be a model consistency issue in the Excel Importer module's Column_NewEdit page, rather than an issue with the Excel import logic itself.


The error CE0456 – Condition for visibility needs to be updated indicates that the visibility configuration of a layout grid row needs to be migrated to the current Studio Pro format.

I found a similar issue reported in the Mendix Community involving the Excel Importer module and the same Column_NewEdit page.


I would recommend the following:

  1. Open the Column_NewEdit page in the ExcelImporter module.
  2. Select the layout grid row identified by the consistency error.
  3. Open its Condition for visibility properties and reconfigure the existing visibility condition using the current Studio Pro editor. If the condition is no longer needed, remove it.
  4. Save the page and run Check Consistency again.

If Studio Pro does not allow you to update the condition, check whether the installed Excel Importer version is compatible with your Studio Pro version. Also check the module's dependencies and update any outdated widgets as required.


I would avoid changing the visibility condition to an arbitrary expression just to suppress the error, because that could change the importer's UI behavior.
