Plans to add 6ES7 137-6EA00-0BA0 (ET 200SP CM CAN) to the SIMATIC AX hardware catalog?

Hi,Are there any plans to add the 6ES7 137-6EA00-0BA0 (ET 200SP CM CAN) to the SIMATIC AX hardware catalog?CAN is widely used in industry, and this module is a key part of our setup. Today it has no .hwl template in AX, so a full AX hardware-plus-software workflow is not possible. We configure the module in TIA Portal and develop the application in SIMATIC AX.It would help to know if official AX hardware support is planned, so we can move to AX as an end-to-end solution instead of keeping this TIA Portal + AX hybrid.Thanks

Thank you for your post and for sharing this demand. I clearly see how important the CM's integration in the hardware catalog is for you so that you can use it in your hardware configuration and ultimately in your automation application.


To be transparent about our current roadmap: we are unfortunately unable to plan the integration of the CM into the AX LCE hardware catalog in the short or medium term. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention as it helps us understand user needs for future consideration.

As far as I know, Mendix Community members generally don't have visibility into the SIMATIC AX hardware catalog roadmap, so only the product team can confirm whether support for 6ES7 137-6EA00-0BA0 (ET 200SP CM CAN) is planned.

That said, if the module currently has no .hwl template available, your approach of configuring the hardware in TIA Portal and developing the application logic in SIMATIC AX is likely the practical workaround for now.

I'd recommend opening a feature request or contacting the SIMATIC AX team through the official support channels if this module is critical for your projects. The more customers requesting CAN support and the ET 200SP CM CAN module specifically, the better the chances it gets prioritized in a future catalog update.

Hopefully someone from the SIMATIC AX product team can comment on whether there is already a planned release for this hardware.
