I now use multiple data views on one page if I want to change the way a field looks, but I regularly catch myself doing this. It would be so much more easy to have a default Form Orientation and Label Width on Data View level, but be able to adjust/overwrite this on each individual field (just like you 'inherit' or overwrite editability of a field).
Can't believe this is 7 years old and still has not been implemented natively. There are some Marketplace widgets that implement this on their specific widgets, so its very clearly possible.
