Structured Mode in Mac OS

0
Is there any extentions or customisations anyone has attempted to enhance the structured mode view. We have comlex page strucutres which seems to be not properly maintained in the mac version of studio pro in the newly introduced structured mode. Instead of using parallels is there a better method to do edits to pages ?

Hi,

At the moment, the Structured Mode in Studio Pro (Mac) is still evolving and not fully at parity with the Windows experience, especially for complex page structures.

There are no official extensions or plugins available to enhance Structured Mode — it’s not extensible in that way yet.

What you’re seeing is expected

For complex layouts:

  • Deeply nested containers
  • Layout grids with multiple regions
  • Dynamic visibility blocks

Structured Mode can become:

  • Hard to read
  • Misaligned visually
  • Less reliable compared to Design Mode

This is more noticeable on Mac builds.

Recommended way of working

1. Don’t rely only on Structured Mode

Use a combination of:

  • Design Mode → for layout understanding
  • Structure Mode → for quick navigation

For complex pages, Design Mode is still more stable.

2. Break down large pages

Instead of one complex page:

  • Move sections into Snippets
  • Keep each snippet focused

This improves:

  • Maintainability
  • Structured Mode readability

3. Avoid deep nesting

Try to:

  • Reduce nested containers
  • Use flatter layouts

Structured Mode struggles with deeply nested hierarchies.

4. Use clear naming conventions

Name:

  • Containers
  • Snippets
  • Data Views

So even if the structure looks messy, it’s still understandable.

5. Parallel editing alternative

Instead of using parallels:

  • Open multiple pages/snippets in tabs
  • Split logic into reusable components

This is currently the most stable approach.

Structured Mode is meant as a supporting view, not a full replacement for Design Mode yet — especially in Mac Studio Pro.

There’s no customization or extension available for Structured Mode today. The best practice is to simplify page structure, use snippets, and rely on Design Mode for complex layouts, while using Structured Mode mainly for navigation and quick edits.
