I would like to propose the development of a native Figma-to-Mendix importer that allows designers and developers to directly convert Figma designs into Mendix pages, layouts, and UI components.
There is currently no official way to import Figma designs into Mendix Studio Pro. The existing process requires manually recreating every layout and component, which is time‑consuming, error‑prone, and inconsistent across projects. While the Atlas UI Kit for Figma helps align the design language, the gap between design and actual Mendix implementation remains large.
Several third‑party attempts already exist (e.g., Figma‑to‑HTML or custom converters), which shows strong demand, but none integrate directly with Mendix. An official solution from the Mendix team would ensure stability, compatibility with Atlas Design, and a unified workflow for all teams.
Although Maia (AI Page Generation) is a great step forward, it is not yet capable of accurately translating full design structures, complex layouts, tokens, or component libraries from Figma. The current AI-generated pages do not preserve visual fidelity, spacing, responsiveness, or design‑system consistency. Therefore, it does not solve the core need for a reliable, predictable Figma-to-Mendix pipeline.
This feature would significantly improve productivity, reduce UI inconsistencies, and modernize the Mendix front‑end development experience.
