I was testing Gallery Widget, with Listen to Widget mode with a Data view. I realized that the first item is not selected by default. Make it possible to add this as part of configuration or make it by default (similar to the List View).
It's mentioned in the latest release note:
- We added support for the auto-select feature in multi-selection and single-selection mode.
Latest Data widgets have select first for DataGrid2 but not for Gallery (as far as I know).
Have a look at Marketplace https://marketplace.mendix.com/link/component/253866. My ConventCommons has functions for DataGrid2 and Gallery to select (first) row and many other (usefull) stuff.
This Idea has been implemented and is available in the latest Data widgets version
This select first option should be included in datagrid 2 and gallery - being a successor to DataGrid.
I am running into same requirement. Is this something being supported with new version of Mendix or Widget?
It is good practice to have a determined outcome of an action and not leave it indetermined. Choosing the first element as default seems like a practical approach.
Being compatible with List View behavior is an added advantage, what a Mendix developer expects.
